I’m Salufa N’goma Kadorho, but most people know me as “Salu the Psychologist.” I’m a qualified Psychologist and Human Resources Specialist (CIPD Level 7), but beyond those roles, I’m also a wife, mother, and lifelong advocate for wellbeing and balance. My family inspires me every day to lead with compassion, stay grounded in gratitude, and live with purpose.
Throughout my journey, I’ve witnessed how cultural identity, workplace pressures, and discrimination can deeply affect a person’s mental well-being. Too often, I’ve seen people from diverse backgrounds feel unseen or misunderstood when seeking support, and that’s what led me to create SaluPositiveMind.
I founded this space to offer compassionate, culturally-aware coaching that helps people reconnect with their confidence, direction, and joy.
My mission is simple: to help you move from surviving to truly flourishing, with empathy, understanding, and practical tools to create lasting change in your life.
Radio Allfm 96.9
One of the most fulfilling chapters of my journey has been my experience as a Psychologist on the radio, where I’ve had the privilege of sharing insights on the importance of understanding our minds and prioritising mental well-being. Speaking to a wider audience has allowed me to expand the message that looking after your mind is just as essential as caring for your body. The opportunity to reach people through radio, to talk about resilience, emotional healing, and empowerment, has truly been a dream come true. Every conversation, every listener’s story, reminds me of why I chose this path: to make psychology accessible, relatable, and uplifting for everyone. As Martin Seligman, the founder of Positive Psychology, once said, “Authentic happiness derives from raising the bar for yourself, not comparing yourself to others.” Through my work, both in coaching and on air, I hope to inspire others to believe that no dream is too far, and that healing, growth, and fulfilment are possible when we nurture our minds with the same care we give our bodies.
Accredation and experience
I hold a Psychology degree, a Master’s in Human Resource Management and Development, and I’m a Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) Level 7 qualified practitioner. My academic and professional paths have strengthened my ability to blend psychological principles with business management theories, helping individuals and teams perform at their best while safeguarding their well-being.
As a Human Resource Management and Development professional, I’ve spent years supporting individuals and global organisations across different countries, offering not only administrative and HR guidance but also psychological wellbeing advice. These diverse environments have shown me how stress, discrimination, and lack of psychological safety can affect both personal and professional fulfilment. I also served as a Wellbeing Advisor in the NHS and I have been a Career Coach and Wellbeing Mentor, supporting people through one of the most uncertain and isolating times in recent history. These experiences reminded me that mental health support must be accessible, empathetic, and culturally sensitive.
Other Projects
Before founding SaluPositiveMind, I created Afrorain, an online marketplace designed to celebrate diversity, inclusion, and cultural identity. Afrorain was born from my deep belief that representation is powerful, that everyone deserves to see their culture, creativity, and beauty reflected in the world around them. What began as a simple idea evolved into a heartfelt mission to empower communities and promote belonging.
Through Afrorain, I gained valuable experience in community outreach and purposeful communication, connecting with individuals who shared a vision of inclusion and authenticity. This journey showed me the transformative impact of creating spaces where people feel seen, valued, and celebrated, a lesson that became the foundation and inspiration behind SaluPositiveMind.
My purpose is empowering everyone, especially members of the BAME community, as they navigate life's exciting changes, cultural shifts, and personal growth journeys!
Inspiring and supporting individuals from multicultural backgrounds to prioritise their mental health and flourish every day is what makes me happy.
